Rescued Raven Learned To Replicated Keeper's Voice
Occurred on March 18, 2026 / Chepachet, Glocester, Rhode Island, USA
Info from Licensor: "For over a year, a rescued Common Raven named Zia has been secretly imitating his rehabilitator's voice.
The behavior was first discovered when a handyman working near the raven enclosure heard someone saying "Salam" and "Salam Zia" in a woman's voice. Thinking the wildlife rehabilitator was inside the enclosure, he called out to her several times. When she didn't answer, he realized the voice was actually coming from one of the ravens.
For months, staff couldn't determine which raven was speaking. After setting up cameras, they finally confirmed it was Zia, a nearly three-year-old raven who had been illegally kept as a pet before being rescued."
