Info from Licensor: "During our visit to Perito Moreno Glacier, my husband and I had no idea the glacier was going to give us a show. Important: Unlike most glaciers around the world that are retreating due to climate change, Perito Moreno is one of the few that is actually growing. It advances around 450-700 meters per year, and the calving we saw is just part of its natural cycle of renewal. We were walking on one of the trails with views over the main frontal section. At some point, we heard some loud, low rumbling noise coming from the ice, like something large was moving. We stopped to watch and then, suddenly, a huge chunk of the front face calved in different spots and as we watched astonished, massive chunks of ice fell into the water with a booming splash. We almost couldn’t believe what we had just seen. And then minutes later, it happened again. By the end of our visit, basically the whole front façade was completely gone. Perito Moreno had a totally new face compared to the start of the day."
